Dan Mintz is a Brussels, Belgium based electronic music composer and sound artist specializing in in music and sound for film and performance.

Dan currently composes and performs experimental electronic music, appearing at European venues. Hailing from New York, Dan's creative experience has included collaborations like Va Va China and Fighter Pilot; collaborations with filmmakers providing audio services and music for a diverse range of independent film in New York; audio recording and editing for a hip-hop studio; and installation art.

A graduate of Oberlin College's Conservatory of Music Technology in Music and Related Arts program (TIMARA)--a major focusing on the composition of electro-acoustic works and the fusion of multimedia with music. Coursework included composing, producing and engineering music for live performance, film and video, dance and installations. The program also focused on a classical conservatory education with courses in music theory, history and aural skills. Dan also served as Electronic Music director for Oberlin's WOBC 91.5 fm, furthering his interest into the medium of radio.

After graduating from Oberlin and moving to Manhattan in 2003, Dan initially teamed up with classmate Travis Johns to record, produce and perform "Fighter Pilot," a CD of experimental electronic music premiered with video in New York in January 2004. He also began freelance audio engineering, producing, recording and mixing hip-hop tracks at Brooklyn's Debo Statis Records.

Dan has also been involved with the film industry, teaming up with directors for sound design and music ocmposition. Post-production credits include the short films "Pieces," "Victima," and "Dead." Dan continues to work with directors adding all sorts of film sound, from Foley and ADR in the studio to music composition and ambient sound.

Dan is also a Director at Heartbeat, a software and consulting firm. In March of 2007, Dan relocated to Brussels, Belgium to help lead the expasion of the company's European operation. Since then he has performed at events such as New Years Eve 2008 in St. Gilles and the Kran Film opening party in Saint Gery in Brussels.
